Roles & Responsibilities

Desired Candidate Profile

• Key Responsibilities 1. Machining Operations • Operate conventional and/or CNC lathe machines for precision turning. • Machine mould components including core inserts, cavity inserts, mould plates, bushes, guide pillars, spacers, and sprue bushings. • Interpret engineering drawings, mould designs, and machining sketches. • Perform roughing and finishing with correct speed, feed, tool selection, and cutting parameters. • Carry out turning operations: • Facing, step turning, taper turning • Grooving, internal/external threading • Boring, drilling, reaming 2. Quality Control • Use precision instruments: Vernier calliper, micrometre, bore gauge, dial indicator, height gauge. • Ensure components match required tolerances, dimensions, and surface finish. • Inspect completed parts and ensure readiness for mould assembly. 3. Tool & Material Handling • Choose and maintain cutting tools, inserts, and tooling fixtures. • Manage coolant application, chip control, and proper workpiece holding. • Prepare raw material for machining. 4. Maintenance • Perform routine maintenance of lathe machines. • Ensure machines are clean, lubricated, calibrated, and functioning correctly. • Report any mechanical issues timely. 5. Safety & Compliance • Follow all machine safety protocols and PPE requirements. • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. • Adhere to company quality standards (ISO systems, if applicable). • Required Qualifications & Skills • Technical Skills • Strong knowledge of conventional lathe operations • Experience in mould/die component machining is mandatory. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. • Knowledge of steels used in moulds (P20, H13, EN, MS, SS, etc.).
