Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Lead the design, implementation, and support of core application systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security of trading, clearing, settlement, and market data platforms. Drive operational excellence, system stability, and continuous improvement aligned with business and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

1. Core Application Strategy & Management

  • Define and implement core application strategy, roadmap, and support framework aligned with business needs

  • Provide expert-level support for trading, clearing, settlement, and market data systems

  • Act as escalation point for critical incidents, ensuring timely resolution within SLA

  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and preventive actions

  • Drive automation, optimization, and continuous improvement of support processes

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, configurations, and knowledge base


2. Operations & System Reliability

  • Ensure high availability, performance, and stability of core applications

  • Manage system upgrades, patches, configurations, and maintenance activities

  • Oversee capacity planning, storage, and database performance

  • Ensure daily operations of trading, clearing, and CSD systems run as per schedule

  • Implement and monitor backup, disaster recovery (DR), and failover mechanisms

  • Manage replication and data synchronization across primary and DR environments


3. IT Service Management & Quality Assurance

  • Lead incident, problem, and change management processes aligned with ITIL

  • Define troubleshooting standards and ensure effective issue resolution

  • Ensure compliance with SLAs, service quality, and operational KPIs

  • Oversee system installations, upgrades, and infrastructure integration

  • Ensure audit-ready documentation and adherence to internal controls


4. Security, Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure application security, data integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards

  • Support security testing and vulnerability assessments

  • Enforce governance, policies, and procedures for system changes and operations

  • Ensure trading and settlement systems comply with market regulations


5. Leadership & People Management

  • Lead and mentor Core Application Support team

  • Set objectives, manage performance, and drive team development

  • Foster a high-performance and collaborative team culture


6. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with internal teams (trading, clearing, IT, development) for issue resolution

  • Manage vendor relationships, SLAs, and service delivery performance

  • Coordinate with third-party providers for system upgrades and support


7. Project & Change Management

  • Lead application-related projects, upgrades, and enhancements

  • Manage change implementation (patches, releases, configurations)

  • Ensure proper evaluation, testing, and documentation of all changes


8. Risk, Continuity & Improvement

  • Ensure business continuity, risk management, and disaster recovery readiness

  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives

  • Drive digital transformation and system optimization initiatives


9. Budget & Governance

  • Monitor departmental activities against approved budgets

  • Ensure cost-effective operations and report variances


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in application support within capital markets / stock exchange environment

  • Strong experience in trading, clearing, settlement, or market data systems

  • Minimum 4+ years in leadership or senior support roles

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years of experience in application support within capital markets, stock exchange, or financial services environment

  • Strong hands-on experience supporting trading, clearing, settlement, and market data systems

  • Mandatory experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) including support, troubleshooting, and system optimization

  • Proven expertise in ITIL/ITSM frameworks, incident management, problem management, and change management

  • Experience with monitoring tools, system performance tuning, and high-availability environments

  • Strong knowledge of disaster recovery (DR), failover, and business continuity processes

  • Proven experience in handling critical incidents, root cause analysis (RCA), and SLA-driven environments

  • Experience managing L2/L3 application support teams and acting as escalation point

  • Strong stakeholder management and vendor coordination experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • ITIL certification or equivalent is highly preferred
