Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Develop engineering plans, including scope of work, deliverables, and schedules.

  • Ensure engineering outputs align with project technical, financial, and scheduling objectives.
  • Track and assess engineering progress to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Manage interactions between various engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C) to ensure seamless integration of design elements.
  • Oversee engineering interfaces with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to prevent delays and bottlenecks.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to internal engineering teams, consultants, and contractors.
  • Mentor junior staff and support professional development within the engineering team.
  • Monitor team performance and implement improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate engineering risks impacting cost, timeline, or quality.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement design reviews, safety checks, and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all engineering-related discussions with clients.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders regarding progress, milestones, and technical challenges.
  • Manage scope changes, evaluating their impact on cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize designs for cost savings without compromising quality or performance.
  • Prepare technical specifications and assist in vendor evaluations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and compliance with specifications.
  • Support the construction team by resolving technical issues during project execution.
  • Provide input during commissioning to ensure all systems are tested, verified, and compliant prior to client handover.

Desired Candidate Profile

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Masters preferred).
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in mechanical process design, with at least 5 years in a lead or senior designer role on EPC projects.
  • Strong background in mechanical and process design within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors.
  • Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing project interfaces.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in dynamic project environments and travel to project sites as required.
