Roles & Responsibilities

Expected:

  • B.Sc. or equivalent degree in the Engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 15+ years relevant experience in major Brownfield oil & gas projects, including at least five (5) years in similar position.

Role-Specific Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to provide guidance and direction to project team, managing, motivating and mentoring professional engineering specialists.
  • Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during course of performing assignments
  • Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
  • Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution
  • Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Technically competent in own discipline, pursues continuous professional development of skills and knowledge according to standards
  • Maintains own knowledge of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promotes to direct reports.
  • Applies mature professional knowledge and experience to assignments where issues and factors to be considered may be characterized by unsual demands and require additional evaluation to establish the nature and scope of the problem
  • Demonstrated ability to apply advanced laws, principles, mathematics or industry knowledge in the improvement and development of designs
  • Demonstrated skills in persuasion, negotiation, motivation and communication
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project planning
  • Possess a working knowledge of the various Business Units, Functions, Sectors and services offered within business area, and general understanding of other Wood business offerings

Job Objective:

Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through:

  • Executing assigned scopes of work.
  • Providing discipline expertise to the business.
  • Supporting and supervising task delegation to team.
  • Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables including complex problems. Completes almost any engineering tasks with minimal guidance and direction. May serve as the primary discipline engineer or discipline technical authority on projects with small to medium complexity.
  • Performs engineering assignments, usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes design recommendations.
  • Requires mature professional knowledge in planning and conducting assignments having scope for coordination of difficult tasks.1
