Leading Fireman

Job Purpose

To apply the rules and regulations pertaining to fire fighting and rescue at the airport according to the regulations of GCAA.

Process

1. In conjunction with the Watch Commander, the leading fireman shall be responsible for conducting monthly training.
2. Assists in monitoring, and reviewing training needs.
3. Supervise in inspecting and maintaining the fire trucks and its equipment and testing of fire hydrants and checking emergency water supplies.
4. Carry out roles and responsibilities of the B.A.Control officer at incidents
5. Carry out the Watch commander duties in his absence.
6. Act as the sector Commander in the event of incidents and accidents.

People Management

1. Acting in role of Manager/Senior Supervisor/Supervisor when required.
2. Coach and support junior staff as and when required.

Other Requirements- Safety accountability and responsibilities

All staff has the following safety responsibilities and is accountable to their supervisor(s) and Head of Department:

• To comply with the relevant safety requirements and procedures outlined in the Aerodrome Operations Manual and Safety Management System and any other instructions or notices issued by Ras Al Khaimah International Airport.
• To comply with the safety requirements detailed within their training.
• To advise their Head of Department and the Airport Duty Officer team of any safety occurrence or system failure and to identify and report any situation of potential risk or concern affecting safety via one of the following means.
• Report directly to the Safety Department or an immediate supervisor.
• Submitting an Accident/ Incident Report.
• Support safety audits as and investigations as they occur.
