Established in October 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi as a non-profit institution for higher education. In less than 10 years of its establishment, the University achieved academic recognition for most of its programs at master’s as well as bachelor’s level.
The university aims at being a foundation for higher education in Sharjah that uses all the modern means for education. It values its students and works towards bringing out their highest potential, strengthening them for future and turning their strengths to weakness. It focuses at creating an atmosphere favourable of their students and is driven by scientific reasoning.
University of Sharjah has 12 colleges offering dynamic courses at bachelor’s, diploma and master’s level. The population of the university is about 7000 students and 370 teachers. Designed according to international specifications, the university is one of the most advanced university in the UAE.
