Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Counsel specializing in Logistics and eCommerce to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and providing legal guidance within our organization, particularly focusing on the logistics and eCommerce sectors. Your expertise will be essential in navigating the complex legal landscapes and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including operations, finance, and IT, to mitigate legal risks and implement effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of the legal challenges presented by logistics and digital commerce, coupled with a strategic mindset to drive business objectives while maintaining legal integrity.


Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice on logistics and eCommerce-related matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts within the logistics and eCommerce sectors.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations affecting logistics operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize legal risks in logistics projects.
  • Develop legal strategies to protect intellectual property in the eCommerce domain.
  • Advise management on potential legal implications of business strategies and decisions.
  • Conduct legal research to stay informed of industry trends and changes.
  • Manage any litigation, arbitration, or other legal proceedings involving the company.
  • Liaise with external legal advisors, ensuring effective management of outsourced legal services.
  • Create and deliver training programs for staff on legal topics relevant to logistics.
  • Improve legal processes, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness in legal operations.
  • Monitor and report on legal developments that could impact the logistics industry.

Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • Active bar membership in at least one state or jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a legal role within logistics or eCommerce.
  • Comprehensive understanding of logistics operations and eCommerce regulations.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with proven drafting abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and manage complex projects.
  • Experience in managing litigation and external legal counsel efficiently.
