Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Lift Planning & Execution
- Supervise all lifting and rigging activities in compliance with ADNOC Codes of Practice and project-specific lifting plans.
- Review and approve lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments before execution.
- Ensure that cranes, lifting equipment, and accessories are inspected, certified, and fit for use.
2. ADNOC Compliance & Safety
- Ensure strict adherence to ADNOC HSE regulations, permit-to-work systems, and lifting safety requirements.
- Verify all crane operators, riggers, and lifting crew hold valid ADNOC-approved certifications.
- Stop any unsafe lifting operation and implement corrective measures immediately.
3. Pre-Lift Preparations
- Conduct pre-lift safety checks on load weight, center of gravity, rigging configuration, wind conditions, and ground stability.
- Coordinate with site engineers, signalmen, and riggers to ensure proper communication during lifts.
- Ensure that all lifting equipment is color-coded and inspected according to ADNOC standards.
4. Supervision During Lifts
- Direct and oversee the lifting crew during critical lifts and routine lifting operations.
- Monitor lifting operations to ensure loads are moved safely and within equipment limits.
- Maintain visual contact or effective radio communication with crane operators at all times.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of lifting equipment inspection certificates, crew competency records, and lifting permits.
- Prepare and submit daily lifting activity reports and incident/near-miss reports if applicable.
- Keep a log of all lifting operations and maintain compliance documentation for ADNOC audits.
6. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with site management, safety officers, and ADNOC representatives for planning and scheduling lifts.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings before lifting operations.
- Coordinate with logistics and maintenance teams for the mobilization/demobilization of lifting equipment.
Desired Candidate Profile
1. Educational Background
- High School Diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
- Technical diploma or certification in mechanical/construction discipline (preferred).
2. Certifications (Mandatory for ADNOC Projects)
- ADNOC Approved Lifting Supervisor Certificate.
- OPITO / LEEA / TUV recognized lifting & rigging training.
- H2S & BA (Breathing Apparatus) Training.
- ADNOC-approved Permit to Work training.
3. Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in lifting operations within oil & gas or heavy construction projects.
- At least 2 years as an ADNOC-approved Lifting Supervisor.
- Proven experience supervising critical lifts, tandem lifts, and heavy rigging operations.
4. Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of crane load charts, lifting tackle selection, and rigging configurations.
- Ability to read and interpret lifting plans, load calculations, and method statements.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage multinational lifting crews.
5. Personal Attributes
- Proactive, safety-focused, and decisive.
- High attention to detail with the ability to identify potential hazards before operations.
- Physically fit and able to work in challenging site conditions.
6. Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work in remote ADNOC project locations.
- Good English communication skills (Arabic knowledge is an advantage).
- Valid UAE Driving License (preferred).
