Health care sector experience of managing Hospital site for minimum 3 years. Overall hospitality experience of 7 -8 years Driving license not a must. Dietitian with similar background in Hospital catering is also suitable for this position.


Efficient and smooth running of canteen under his responsibility, improve canteen sales by introducing new measures resulting in high degree of customer satisfaction and turnover.


1. Standards
1.1 Ensure all work is carried out as per the contract and client specification.
1.2 Plan, organize and control the cafeteria to ensure prompt, efficient and quality service to customers as per the required standards advised by superiors.
1.3 Liaise with the superior to discuss day to day operational requirement and to review achievements and improvements.
1.4 Ensure the staffs are trained to achieve excellence in customer handling.
1.5 Ensure awareness of the Menu for the meal served and update subordinates accordingly.
1.6 Assist the chef by ensuring efficient operation of designated food and beverages areas.
1.7 Ensure the canteen counter is ready; all the canteen items are available and well-presented before service. Ensure smooth and timely supply of prepared/cooked food to canteen as and when required and refill the counter without any interruptions in the service.
1.8 Closely monitor staff during service hours and guide them as and when required.
1.9 Prepared duty roster of staff on site and monitor compliance. Ensure proper allocation of duties to control overtime and proper manning levels at all times.
1.10 Prepared daily requisition for the next day canteen supplies considering customer turnover, menu, stock in balance in the canteen and available items in stores. Forward requisition for prior approval of Operations Manager, issued by storekeeper.
1.11 Check incoming supplies from stores for quality, quantity, damage and spoilage.
1.12 Ensure the correct storage of canteen items and that stock rotation procedures are maintained.
1.13 Ensure the wastage control measures are in place and are compiled with.
1.14 Supervise periodic inventories.
1.15 Ensure all canteen tools and equipment are in working order and inform the malfunctioning to the concerned immediately.
1.16 Identify staff training needs and initiate training process in coordination with superiors. Monitor and supervise on-the-job training process as per training guidelines and procedures. Ensure to maintain up to date records of on-the-job training.
1.17 Perform any other task assigned by superior within the scope of the job.
2.1 Develop and maintain good working relationship with customers through regular contacts and greetings.
2.2 Ensure warm, efficient and quick handling of customer on service line and/or on the tables.
2.3 Ensure that all staff in canteen has received company and client’s induction.
2.4 Lead and motivate co-staff by creating healthy work environment.
2.5 Maintain a professional and pleasant working relation with superiors and peers always.
2.6 Handle customer complaints with utmost care and promptness. Keep superiors informed about all the complaints and suggestions.
3.1 Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management system.
3.2 Ensure that all accidents, fire, loss, theft, and damages are reported to superiors immediately and proper procedures are followed. In addition, where appropriate, take remedial action.
3.3 Adhere to QHSE rules and regulations of client.
3.4 Use correct PPE and maintain them in good condition.
3.5 Ensure proper usage and maintenance of all equipment’s.
3.6 Conduct daily inspections of all areas ensuring maintenance of good hygiene standards.
3.7 Arrange necessary QHSE training for staff in conjunction with the QHSE Manager on the hazards related to job.
3.8 Ensure the periodic pest control is carried out in all areas under his control. Take necessary precaution to avoid food contamination during pest control.
3.9 Ensure that all employees under his control maintain the highest possible standard in personal hygiene.

4.1 Ensure that the objectives and targets set by the management are met.
4.2 Ensure that procedures, instructions and policies given by the management are clearly understood and implemented and monitored in his area of responsibility.

5.1.5 Knowledge of food preparation, presentation and customer service.
5.1.6 Basic computer skills are required by department.

4.2 Technical/Functional Skills

5.1.7 HS level or college level
5.1.8 At least 2 years working experience as a supervisor for the same field.
5.1.9 Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.
