Job Description

The role of a Logistic Officer and Fleet Management professional is critical in ensuring the effective and efficient transportation and delivery of goods and services. This position is responsible for the oversight of an organization's fleet of vehicles, ensuring that they are operated safely and maintained to the highest standards. A Logistic Officer not only manages the fleet vehicles but also ensures that all logistics processes are carried out smoothly, optimizing routes, reducing costs, and improving overall service delivery. This role requires a high degree of organizational skill, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems promptly. In addition to logistical duties, the Logistic Officer plays a pivotal role in coordinating with various departments to ensure the timely execution of tasks related to transportation and delivery, contributing significantly to the operational success of the organization.


Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the entire fleet management process effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure routine and preventive maintenance of the fleet vehicles is scheduled and performed.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders for timely delivery and dispatch of goods.
  • Monitor fuel consumption and optimize routes to reduce operational costs.
  • Develop strategies to improve fleet performance and reduce breakdowns significantly.
  • Ensure compliance with vehicle licensing, regulations, and transport laws and standards.
  • Implement and maintain fleet safety programs to minimize accidents and risk factors.
  • Maintain accurate fleet and logistics records including documentation and reports.
  • Liaise with the procurement department to manage the acquisition of new fleet vehicles.
  • Train and supervise fleet drivers to enhance performance and service delivery.
  • Analyze logistics data to improve efficiency in transportation operations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with fleet and logistics operations proactively.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in logistics, fleet management, or a similar role is required.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using logistics and fleet management software and technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate logistic data and make informed decisions.
  • Solid understanding of transport regulations and vehicle maintenance requirements.
