Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Shipping and Documentation: Coordinate the import and export of goods and materials, including spare parts for diesel engines, machinery, and project-specific equipment. Prepare, verify, and process all necessary shipping documents, such as bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
  • Customs Clearance: Work closely with customs brokers and relevant authorities to ensure smooth and timely customs clearance for all incoming and outgoing shipments. Maintain a strong understanding of UAE customs regulations and international trade laws.
  • Shipment Tracking and Coordination: Track and monitor the status of all shipments, from origin to final destination. Liaise with freight forwarders, airlines, shipping lines, and local transport companies to arrange and confirm timely deliveries.
  • Inventory and Warehouse Management: Coordinate with the workshop and warehouse teams to manage the inventory of incoming and outgoing goods. Ensure accurate records of all materials received and dispatched.
  • Cost Management and Reporting: Negotiate with service providers to secure the best rates for shipping and transportation. Monitor logistics costs and prepare regular reports for management on shipment status, costs, and key performance indicators.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve any logistics-related issues or delays, such as customs hold-ups, damaged goods, or incorrect documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a logistics coordinator, preferably within the marine, oil and gas, or a related heavy industrial sector.
  • Technical Skills:
    Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, incoterms, and customs regulations in the GCC region.
    Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • General Skills:
    Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    Strong communication and negotiation skills.
    A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen attention to detail.
    Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
