A Logistics Officer plays a pivotal role in managing and coordinating the movement of goods within an organization. This position is crucial to ensuring that the complex supply chains function smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively. A Logistics Officer is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the logistics operations to meet company objectives. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with the company's objectives.
- Coordinate and manage the distribution and shipment of goods to various destinations.
- Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers to ensure efficient logistics processes.
- Oversee inventory management and control to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics operations using KPIs and other metrics.
- Ensure compliance with local and international logistics regulations and standards.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with carriers and third-party service providers.
- Resolve any logistics issues that may arise during the transport or delivery of goods.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of logistics activities for audit and reporting purposes.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high service quality and delivery accuracy.
- Lead and manage a team of logistics staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders across the supply chain.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience of 3 5 years in a logistics or supply chain role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent organizational capabilities and attention to detail in logistic operations.
- Proficiency with logistics software and tools for efficient workflow management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for interacting with stakeholders.
