Purpose of the Position: Lead and manage all aspects of the company’s transport operations. Implementing effective asset utilization and optimization; staff motivation and development; interface with inter-department. Responsible for operational excellence & support.

Job Description
• Development of the Transport unit with a focus on improving operational efficiency, building brand equity and increasing market share;
• Ensuring that all company vehicles are properly maintained and serviced, by organizing regular vehicle checks in conjunction with the maintenance Supervisor and his team of mechanics;
• Coordination of transport activities on a day to day basis to ensure effective cargo transportation from point of collection up to delivery;
• Responsible for dispatching routing and tracking of Delivery vehicles;
• Efficiently managing, monitoring and developing a team of competent drivers and support staff for the company vehicles by being the first point of contact for all drivers.
• Ensuring that drivers and support staff have all the necessary safety gear for their respective duties;
• Continuously Identifying operational issues, potential problems and opportunities for effective management of the transport function;
• Ensuring company compliance to transport policies, legislation and procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile

Job Specification:
• A graduate with minimum of 8 years’ experience in Road Transport / Fleet Management – with specialization in 3PL transportation/logistics services;
• Ability to lead, motivate and manage operations teams;
• Has a strong focus on delivering a high quality & cost effective transport service;
• Knowledge and experience of customs documentation and transport laws/procedures in the GCC, or experience in another market with capacity to learn local procedures quickly.

• Ability to train, set priorities, and instruct others on how to perform tasks;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability to operate in global environment;
• Self-managing and pro-active.
