Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Respond to and process customer repair requests. Communicate with customers to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventative maintenance on kitchen and appliance room tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machinery. Transport equipment (e.g., tools, radio). Identify, locate, and operate all equipment shut-off valves and utility shut-off levers for buildings. Maintain required maintenance inventory and order necessary parts and supplies. Communicate daily activities and issues to other teams using approved communication standards and programs. Have basic knowledge or the ability to acquire such knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electricity, mechanics, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building maintenance. Perform all surface preparation, painting, minor repairs to plasterboard and woodwork, replacement of light bulbs and air conditioner filters, and thorough and meticulous cleaning of painting or repair areas. Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., unclogging toilets and drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replacing switches and electrical outlets, and other items in guest rooms. Program televisions and perform general maintenance and inventory tasks related to engineering. Use the lockout/tagout system before performing maintenance work. Perform repairs to interior and exterior landscaping and exterior landscaping sprinklers. Possess basic computer skills, including entering air handling unit schedules and making temperature changes.
Follow all company policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, unsafe working conditions, accidents, and injuries; successfully complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials according to safety instructions. Ensure you wear a clean and complete work uniform; maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times in the workplace; respect confidentiality in the dissemination of information specific to the banner and/or hotel and protect all company property. Greet and greet all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist people with disabilities and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Adhere to quality requirements and standards. Develop positive and constructive professional relationships with your peers; unite and support one another to achieve common goals. Listen to and respond appropriately to the problems of other employees. Use clear and courteous language in all communications. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds (22.7 kg) without assistance and objects weighing more with assistance. Ascend and descend stairs, service ramps, and ladders. Reach for objects above the head and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Access and find job-related information using computers. Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education level: High school diploma or equivalent and professional or technical experience recommended.
Related work experience: Experience in general maintenance, preparation and painting of interior and exterior surfaces.
Experience in hotel maintenance/engineering is an asset.
Supervisory experience: No supervisory experience.
