People management
• Supervise and manage
Makani Site managers within the designated centers, ensuring
consistently strong performance indicators and close linkages to other
service providers and sectors to ensure consistent integration of programmes
at field level.
• Conduct regular follow up with the Site Managers to ensure
the effectivenes of their work
• Provide technical and administrative
support to all Makani Site Managers under his/her supervision.
• Act as a focal point of
communication between UNICEF and Makani Site managers.
Pgorgamatic cycle preparation
• Contribute to and support
the Makani Site managers in the preparation of key planning activities at the
centres. Support preparation of Makani activities work plans including
programme schedules/cycles, outreach plans, events as required. Ensuring
Syrian Site Manager and staff comply by set work plans, schedules and meet targets.
• Systematically undertake
and document frequent field visits in the designated centres to monitor and
assess programme implementation and decide on required corrective action.
Capacity development
• Conduct regular capacity
assessment for Makani facilitators; identify the gaps and the training needs
in each center
• Coordinate with the
technical focal points to conduct training, monitoring sessions, coaching,
or any other type of capacity development activities as per the assessed
• Ensure continuous capacity
building of the Syrian volunteers provided as required to ensure compliance
with set SOPs and quality of service delivery.
Technical support
• Provide general technical
information about Makani program to Makani Site Managers and Facilitators
• Identify the additional
technical gaps in the center under his/her supervision, and communicate the
gaps to the technical teams to provide the technical support
• Arrange meetings between
Makani facilitators and/or site managers with the technical focal points and
ensure that frequent questions are answered and massages are unified and
shared with all parties.
• Ensure the minimum
standards of program implementation are met.
Human resourses
• Identify the gaps in
facilitators for centers under his/her supervision in collaboration with the
site managers.
• Share the needed vacancies
with BDC HR manager to start working on filling those gaps.
• Participate in the
recruitment process for highly skilled and technical volunteers.
• In collaboration with Site
managers and BDC HR focal points, prepare a case by case arrangement to
minimize the effects of the gaps over the running activities (such as double
shifts for available facilitators), and approve it as needed.
Operations and logistics
• Ensure that Makani centers
under her/his supervision has all the needed materials and tools to run the
regular activities
• Report any urgent
maintenance need to BDC, and follow up on its completion with the focal
• Ensure that the site
managers for the centers under his/her supervision submit their logistic and
maintenance needs on timely manner.
• Prioritize the maintenance
and logistic needs for Makani centers and share the priority with BDC focal
points to follow up on.
Coordination and meetings
• Coordinate with UNICEF
sections in any issue related to Makani centers.
• Represent UNICEF in any
relevant meeting at the camp level as assigned by the direct supervisor
• Attend internal Makani
team meeting, and UNICEF meetings as required.
• Attend the weekly meeting
with BDC staff in the camp.
• Effective partnership and
collaboration achieved and maintained for advocacy, technical cooperation,
and programme development/management/coordination, information sharing and
networking in the camps.
• Coordinate for the formal
and informal visits to Makani sites under his/her supervision by ensuring the
preparedness of the center, logistics, official permits, and the running
activities as required. This applies to all visits including: donor visits,
VIP visits, partners and others.
• Provide regular reporting
on Makani centers under his/her supervision in timely manner (monthly,
quarterly ..) and as required.
• consolidate the Site
managers monthly report and submit one report to the direct supervisor
highlighting main achievements and challenges.
• Participate and contribute
to major programme research and evaluation exercises, contribute to improving
Makani camp rubrics in coordination with PME teams and sections and conduct
center level reviews as well as participate in key camp level coordination
• Ensure the safety and
security practices are followed in all Makani centers, and report any safety
and security incident in timely and professional manner.
• Ensure that Makani clubs
(English, environment, and others) are running smoothly with clear plans and
objectives in place.
• Any other relevant task
assigned by the line manager
