Roles & Responsibilities
Job DescriptionCore Responsibilities: Conversant with international shipping and port conventions adopted by local & international authorities and ensure they are complied with. Always adheres to Company HSE policies and objectives. Well-versed in liaising with Shipping Administrative Bodies/Classification Societies/Flag States/Agents/P&I Clubs/H&M underwriters, etc. Managing the project lifecycle: initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. Scheduling team assignments to achieve goals within time, quality, and cost parameters. Supporting Fleet services in bunkering, crewing, chartering, and logistics services. Ensuring adherence to systems, standards, and regulations. Liaising with the Project Management Consultants team for the smooth execution of fleet management. Adhering to the project schedule and timely completion of all activities. Having a sound knowledge of the project budget and keeping it strictly within limits. People Management Responsibilites:Building and leading cross-functional teams.Providing necessary training to the workforce/technical support teams.Interfacing with people at all levels, managing a healthy work environment, and inculcating bonded teamwork with high work ethics.Identifying and enrolling stakeholders, getting top-level commitment and peer group support.Strategic Responsibilities:Maximizing earnings with available resources.Expected to manage risk, support and develop the company strategy, develop and maintain internal and external relationships, keep up to date with market developments, solve claims and disputes when required.Organizing fundamental analysis of the related marine market to form an opinion of the market and implement a detailed plan alongside senior management.ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities: Managing the fleet in order to support regional and global Marine operations. Managing all aspects of Vessels support including crew administration, management, movement, assignment, and familiarization. Managing financial, Units equipment s and Human Resources requirements to ensure redundancy and business continuity at AD Ports. Managing and maintain the expended fleet which consists units of 35 as per AD Ports requirements, policies, and procedures. Managing all marine units to the various projects to operates safely and efficiently, ensuring utmost readiness for potential international Mobilization. Participating with the Managements in operation recommendation. Managing the operations on all Vessel in compliance with Harbour Master Service agreement at all 8 ports under AD ports. Lead Fleet department to adopt and integrate innovations and new technologies onboard Marine Services Vessels. Undertaking the role and responsibilities of AD Ports Group company security officer. Initiate and implement training programmes to obtain HM Licences for the Marine Units Masters in all 8 ports under AD ports. Managing and maintaining the vessels readiness and their equipment, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and performance norms for specific activities carried out by the vessel and its equipmentWork closely with Human Resource Unit to develop and manage both short- and long-term trainings programs to ensure that selected UAE Nationals received thorough training in the shipping and ports industries to enable them to operate AD Ports services. Leading all Senyar/ incidents, accidents, investigations, and corrective action procedures related to the Department. Ensure adherence to Safe working instruction and SOPs and ISM CODE. Ability to manage and close all Non-Compliance notices and HSE Observations. People Management Responsibilities: Managing the manning requirements plan for the department, conducts the recruiting interviews and obtaining requisite approvals. Manage the team by evaluating the performance of team members, providing feedback on an ongoing basis, identifying development needs and coaching them to ensure ongoing capability development. Ensuring availability of qualified Tug Masters and crew members, Monitoring KPIs, conducting appraisals and undertaking assessments annually. Managing and ensuring the personnel and crew rotations are planned to ensure the business continuity (Currently 160 employees). Strategic Responsibilities: Provide technical and operation expertise to review suitability of Sailing procedures and voyages planning for international mobilizations. Managing schedules, Planes and prepare Marine Units for Dry Docking Maintenance locally and internationally in term of Crewing, equipment s, Passage plans and Administrations formalities. Support tender teams in provision of vessel information (capability, capacity), best practices and cost input. Provide operation technical reviews and meetings with clients for any special operation requirements. Direct and instruct all Marine port operations are adequately resourced, and risk assessed and have all appropriate procedures, standards, permits and licenses in place and updated when required. Manages the complex operation and activities of the Marine Operations Establishes the strategic direction and ensures the success of the Marine Operations organization by coordinating the development of goals and objectives that are consistent with and supportive of AD Ports. Managing employee qualifications, training (in accordance with Harbour Master requirements) and other documentation to ensure compliance with operational and legislative requirements. Awareness of qualifications & experience required to conduct competent and safe operations.
