Manager/ Head - Estimation Electrical Voltas

Should be conversant with the latest authority requirements for the GCC countries.

Should have good knowledge & understanding of the electrical & ELV design & estimation for airports, metro, tunnels, commercial mixed use buildings, hotels & high rise towers, oil & gas installations etc.

Should be well conversant with the cost aspects for the electrical & ELV equipment & systems.

Manage & guide the electrical estimation team in all aspects to achieve team goals & targets.

Assist in cost estimation for preliminaries and overheads.

To use existing costing formats and bring in any improvements required for more precision and perfection.

Review the costing prepared by the team & provide observations/ assistance to achieve an optimized cost.

Prepare a database of project costing for use in various ways to enhance the cost competitiveness.

Build & develop new vendor base & develop relations to ensure their support in providing quotes.

Have regular interactions with vendors for providing them with feedback on their quotes.

Buildup & maintain commercial/technical database for various type of projects and/or equipment/systems for cost comparison & optimization

Develop & manage a library of specifications, data sheets, MSDS for various equipment & systems for use in design & build as well as EPC projects.

Develop the basic design capabilities & enhance commercial skills of the team for use in EPC/D&B works as well as to review the technical document understanding.

Arrange regular workshops/ training for skill upgradation of team.

Understand the contract terms & conditions, insurances & commercial terms so as to understand the implications of the same on the costing.

Preferably should be conversant with FIDIC conditions of contract.

Participate in various cross functional teams and other assignments as per the direction of company

Role Purpose :

• To take the complete ownership of costing for the electrical & ELV services

• Support the Head of Estimation in all matters related to electrical & ELV service costing & technical aspects

• Effectively plan & manage resources

• Develop & coordinate with supply chain partners

• Guide the team in improving the accuracy of costing

• Train the team to read & understand specifications & technical guidelines from authorities

• Support the operations / project execution team in case of any issues during project execution

• Guide the team for design & build projects/ design verification works

• Identify possible value engineering, process improvement & cost optimization opportunities

• Meeting with client/ Consultant/ contractor/ project teams as and when required during bidding and post bid process.
