Job Summary
To develop and implement an ongoing focused media and community relations program. This program must be strategically planned to support and enhance the hotel's sales and marketing efforts in order to target market and reinforce the corporate identity.
Reports To :
Director of Sales & Marketing /
Works closely with appointed PR agencies (globally & regionally)
Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities and aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.
College Degree
Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests and hotel staff to their understanding.
Familiarity with Sales and Marketing tools.
Ability to provide legible communication.
2-year experience in Marketing Department, preferably at a 5-Star hotel or a lifestyle brand.
Computer literate.
Ability to communicate in a second language.
Ability to prioritize, organize work assignments; delegate assignments as necessary.
Ability to promote positive relationships with guests and staff.
Ability to ensure confidentiality of guest and hotel data.
Ability to work within a cohesive team or perform job functions independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to enforce hotel's quality standards, procedures, etc.
Ability to perform job assigned and follow up with corrections where necessary.
Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment.
Ability to focus attention on details.
Ability to remain calm and courteous with demanding/difficult situations.
Ability to perform job functions to standards under pressure.
Ability to work long hours, 5-6 days a week.
Ability to balance time and work well with deadlines.
Previous guest relations training.
Creative Talent
Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
Maintain complete knowledge of computer according to specifications.
Access all functions of computer according to specifications.
Set up work station with necessary supplies and resource materials; maintain cleanliness throughout shift.
Handle inquiry call according to departmental procedure.
Handle guest complaints by following instant pacification procedures ensuring guest satisfaction.
Promote positive relations with guests and employees.
Maintain high level of knowledge in reference to The EDITION product.
Maintain high level of knowledge of the competition's product.
Maintain good relationships with counterparts at competing hotels; promote all EDITION Hotels whenever possible.
Design and work within market plan.
Meet solicitation and maintenance call requirements; make outside media calls, handle all incoming inquiries.
Answer incoming phone calls in a pleasant manner, within two rings, using correct salutations and EDITION telephone etiquette.
Anticipate and respond to all customer needs within a timely manner, acknowledge all customers, however busy and whatever time of day.
Process paperwork to other departments in a prompt manner. Complete all assigned paperwork within a timely manner.
Plan and prepare appointments for media trips, follow up in a timely manner.
Attend designated trade shows.
Maintain file base of client information.
Attend departmental meetings as required.
Entertain clients in all outlets as necessary.
Successfully complete the training/certification process for this position.
Work closely with designated PR & Ad agencies.
Work on special events with Dir/ of Culture & Entertainment
Prepare and work on PR releases.
Collaborate on special activations related to the hotel.
