Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems for various marine, and offshore, vessels and equipment in a workshop environment, or on-site as required.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain electrical wiring, control systems for a wide range of equipment and machinery
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Conduct electrical fault finding and diagnosis using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
  • Replace defective or outdated electrical components, including wiring, breakers, switches, and transformers.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant marine industry standards, class requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Document repair work, maintenance logs, and electrical testing results.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and fabrication teams to complete integrated repair and maintenance projects.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to supervisors and project managers.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a Marine Electrician, ideally with a further 2 years in a workshop or shipyard environment.
  • Strong understanding of marine electrical systems, AC/DC circuits, switchboards, generators, deck, crane and ancillary equipment and associated electronics.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Experience using multimeters, insulation testers, and other electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Familiarity with maritime classification society rules and safety regulations.
  • Good command of English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
  • Physically fit to handle workshop tasks.

Work Conditions

  • Based full-time in our onshore workshop.
  • Site visits to nearby ship repair facilities as required.
