Position Description
We are seeking a Marine Technical Trainer to join Saudi Aramco's Marine Department.
The Marine Department is a vital part of Saudi Aramco's Industrial Services. The department has a reliable fleet of vessels to provide an assortment of Marine Services, to support the exploration, production, and transportation of oil, in and around Saudi Aramco's offshore concession areas.
The role will involve training personnel in matters related to Marine Engineering. This will involve conducting training activities in class-rooms, shops, simulators, shipboard environments and remote offshore/onshore operation sites as required by Saudi Aramco.
The Marine Technical Trainer will be expected to operate as a Subject Matter Expert for Marine Engineering curriculum writers and deliver high quality instruction in a range of Marine Engineering Courses.
Possess the ability, and be committed to stay current in program areas and best industry practices. Ability to perform shop practices with the highest safety and industry standards to ensure safety of staff, Trainees, facilities and equipment. Have the ability to manage programs and resources effectively. Relate successfully to faculty, staff, trainees, and the community. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Minimum Requirements
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
You will have 4 years experience in the Marine industry with some training experience.
Knowledge of all aspects of Marine Engineering which includes, Marine Engines, Hydraulics, and Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Marine Auxiliary systems, Jack-Up Barges and other machinery system applicable to different offshore vessel types.
Possess the ability, and be committed to stay current in program areas and best industry practices.
Ability to perform shop practices with the highest safety and industry standards to ensure safety of staff, Trainees, facilities and equipment.
Have the ability to manage programs and resources effectively.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be computer literate with MS Office.
OR
Must have completed High School Education or the equivalent with English and Maths.
Eleven years (11) years of experience Marine experience including 1 year field assignment within the Marine industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
Responsible for training and developing the Marine Engineers & crew for the Saudi Aramco Fleet vessels.
Organize and supervise the various Marine Engineering Training programs.
Prepare, instruct and grade all Marine training programs including training candidates towards Engineer certificates of competency in compliance with STCW standards.
Promote positive trainee learning outcomes through effective teaching.
Train candidates with topics relating to modern Integrated Engine and machinery systems applicable to different offshore vessel types.
Develop new Marine Engineering training programs & periodically review existing training programs to comply with current industry standards at all times.
Participate in training programs & Self-development as required.
The Marine Engineering Instructor position is a full-time position based onshore in Saudi Arabia.
