Job Description and Person Specification
Job Title
Marketing Manager
Muscat, Oman (some local, regional and international travel may be required)
Full time. Hours as necessary for the role.
Reports To
Director of Marketing and Communications
Main Responsibilities
Develop promotional material (print & online) using internal resources and external agencies so that potential students, agents and other stakeholders receive accurate and reliable information on the University s programmes.
Develop and implement campaigns with appropriate media (print & online) in order to attract enquiries from prospective students and agents.
Develop a reliable and accurate marketing information system (statistics, target market info, competitor research etc) to facilitate strategic decision making for marketing & management purposes.
Develop and maintain a database of stakeholder contacts.
Support Muscat University at external events that promote our programmes and recruit students with appropriate marketing collateral.
Manage resources in order to meet the institutional student targets in the most cost effective manner.
Prepare regular marketing reports to facilitate strategic decision making by senior management.
Planning and Organising
Suitable planning in advance of marketing and promotional activity over 1 3 year period and presenting these to management for discussion and agreement.
Planning the allocation of the annual marketing budget to cover all aspects of the marketing plan that year.
Problem Solving
The post holder will be able to work closely with relevant departments to identify issues and challenges and propose innovative solutions to progress the work of the University.
Decision Making
In general, the job holder identifies and implements key marketing activities as per the marketing strategy. Support sought from the director on larger projects eg redesign of website, overseas recruitment initiatives.
Decides on which publications to advertise in.
Decides on allocation of marketing budget in line with approved marketing strategy.
Job Purpose
To develop and implement an integrated marketing plan for all Muscat University pathway, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as well as the Executive Education portfolio. Work closely with the Student Recruitment Department and ensure all marketing activity aligns with student recruitment objectives. Support the Director and other senior colleagues in the planning and delivery of University events. Oversee the University s social media engagement.

Experience of destination / tourism marketing or marketing within FE & HE
