Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily masonry operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Manage and coordinate a skilled team of masons and laborers, delegating tasks effectively to maximize productivity on-site.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce compliance with safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety among crew members.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings, providing guidance to team members on proper installation techniques and material usage.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing any delays or issues proactively to keep the project on track and within budget.
  • Order and manage inventory of materials, ensuring that supplies are sufficient for ongoing work without incurring unnecessary costs.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment on expectations and progress.
  • Train and mentor junior masons, sharing expertise in techniques and best practices to enhance team skill levels and efficiency.
  • Implement quality control measures, conducting inspections of completed work to ensure it meets established standards and specifications.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports on project status, workforce, and materials used, providing transparency to stakeholders.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in construction management or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on masonry experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role to demonstrate leadership capabilities.
  • Relevant certifications in masonry, OSHA safety, or first aid are highly preferred to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Proven experience working in commercial or residential construction environments, showcasing versatility in various masonry applications.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and regulations to ensure all work is compliant and safe.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, ensuring accurate execution of architectural designs.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages can enhance communication within diverse teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, allowing for quick and effective resolution of on-site challenges.
  • Physical stamina and strength are required, as the role involves lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, enabling effective team management and fostering a positive work environment.
