Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Material Planning & Control

  • Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and project teams to ensure timely availability of materials as per project schedules.
  • Review material requisitions (MRs) and ensure technical specifications, quantities, and delivery timelines are clearly defined.
  • Maintain updated records of material requirements, purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory levels.

2. Material Receiving & Inspection

  • Oversee receipt of materials at site; ensure inspection and verification against purchase orders, packing lists, and delivery notes.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control for inspection and acceptance of materials.
  • Report any shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the concerned departments immediately.

3. Material Storage & Handling

  • Ensure proper storage, identification, and preservation of materials as per project and manufacturer’s requirements.
  • Implement and maintain proper tagging, binning, and coding systems for easy traceability.
  • Monitor material usage and issue materials to construction teams as per approved procedures.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date material tracking sheets, stock registers, and reconciliation reports.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly material status reports for management and project control teams.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all material transactions (receipts, issues, transfers, and returns).

5. Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with Procurement, Logistics, Construction, and Planning departments for smooth material flow to site.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and transporters for timely delivery and resolution of logistics issues.
  • Support site teams with material availability forecasts and highlight potential shortages in advance.

6. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure material management activities comply with company policies, QA/QC standards, and HSE regulations.
  • Promote safe material handling and storage practices at site and warehouse locations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • ITI / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil).
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in material coordination / warehouse operations within engineering, construction, or EPC projects.
  • Familiar with project-based material management systems and ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in multicultural, site-based environments.
  • Gulf experience preferred.
