KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Vehicle Operation & Transport Duties
- Safely transport CNG trailers and equipment to/from compressor stations, customer sites, ports, and operational hubs.
- Maneuver trailers precisely into loading/unloading bays following CNG safety SOPs.
- Plan optimal routes and maintain timely delivery schedules.
- Operate onboard communications systems (GPS, telematics, company communication devices).
- Comply with UAE traffic laws, hazardous-material transport rules, and weight/route restrictions.
- Conduct daily mechanical inspections: brakes, suspension, clutch, fluids, tires, couplings, valves, hoses, CNG connectors.
- Perform minor and Major repairs on trailers, trucks, and CNG accessories to reduce downtime (e.g., Engine, transmission, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems, hose replacements, tightening, adjustments, fuses, oil top-ups).
- Carry out basic diagnostics and troubleshooting for mechanical and operational issues encountered during trips.
- Use diagnostic tools and software for fault detection
- Support maintenance teams with reporting, part identification, and prerepair assessments.
- Provide on-road technical response during breakdowns, assisting recovery teams or resolving simple mechanical faults to restore operation.
- Document all mechanical work performed and ensure defects are escalated immediately.
- Responsible for conducting comprehensive road tests and final inspections of heavy trucks after maintenance
- Connect/disconnect filling hoses safely as per SOPs.
- Verify pressure, temperature, and valve configuration before and after loading/unloading.
- Ensure safe depletion of CNG during offloading while monitoring pressure thresholds.
- Assist technicians in identifying mechanical or leak-related abnormalities during trailer coupling/decoupling.
- Follow strict CNG transport HAZMAT SOPs, UAE Civil Defense standards, and company safety protocols.
- Ensure all mechanical work and driving activities comply with HSE guidelines.
- Respond to emergencies involving leaks, breakdowns, or mechanical issues.
- Maintain readiness of fire extinguishers, spill kits, gas detectors, and emergency shutdown tools.
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety training sessions.
- Maintain accurate mechanical defect logs, service checklists, and preventive maintenance reports.
- Maintain driving records: kilometer's, fuel logs, delivery documentation, rest periods.
- Submit reports on technical findings, breakdowns, abnormal conditions, and repair recommendations.
- Support fleet maintenance scheduling by reporting vehicle condition proactively.
- Keep both interior and exterior of assigned vehicles clean and operational.
- Ensure mechanical tools, safety kits, and equipment are secured and maintained.
- UAE Heavy Vehicle Driving License (HVD) (mandatory).
- HAZMAT certification (preferred).
- Basic First Aid & Fire Safety.
- Defensive Driving certification.
- Basic-to-intermediate vehicle mechanical knowledge (engine, brakes, electrical, couplings, hoses).
- Ability to perform minor repairs and identify critical mechanical failures.
- Understanding of CNG trailer safety procedures, pressure checks, and emergency shutdown steps.
- Proficiency in reading basic maintenance logs, vehicle diagnostic indicators, and repair notes.
- Ability to operate fleet telematics and onboard computer systems.
- Strong safety awareness and hazard identification.
- Responsible, disciplined, and reliable.
- Ability to remain calm during emergencies or breakdown scenarios.
- Excellent communication and teamwork with mechanics and operations staff.
- Customer-friendly behavior when interacting at client sites.
- English (required).
- Arabic/Hindi/Urdu (advantage).
- Physically fit (lifting hoses, tools, performing inspections).
- Willing to work shifts, long hours, and emergency call-outs.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
