Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a comprehensive mechanical commissioning plan based on project scope, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure all activities comply with ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, and other international standards.
- Define commissioning objectives, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Manage the commissioning process from start to completion, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Review, approve, and maintain all commissioning documentation, test plans, and reports.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, inspection checklists, and compliance certifications.
- Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to safety regulations, project guidelines, and quality standards.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors for all mechanical commissioning matters.
- Lead regular commissioning coordination meetings, providing updates and resolving technical challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all systems are properly integrated and ready for testing.
- Oversee the commissioning and performance verification of key data centre mechanical systems, including:
- Chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, AHUs, pumps, cooling towers, and fans.
- Fire protection systems, including fire alarms, suppression systems, and gas detection.
- Automation and PLC logic sequences, ensuring control systems function as designed.
- Perform detailed mechanical performance validation activities, including:
- Energy management and efficiency testing to optimize cooling and airflow.
- Water balancing and delta T analysis to verify proper temperature differentials.
- Heat load and pump head calculations to ensure system accuracy and pressure management.
- CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis to evaluate system airflow, heat distribution, and thermal efficiency.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system deficiencies or performance issues during the testing process.
- Conduct failover and redundancy testing to ensure system reliability and compliance with Tier certification requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with system operation and performance.
- Address any integration issues or non-conformances promptly and effectively.
- Ensure all punch-list items are completed prior to final acceptance and project handover.
- Oversee the final handover of all mechanical systems to the Operations and Maintenance team.
- Verify that all documentation, reports, and test results are complete and accurate.
- Conduct final system performance checks and ensure compliance with all project specifications.
- Provide training and technical support to client and Operations and Maintenance teams for ongoing operations.
