Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Overview
This role is responsible for designing Sheet Metal Enclosures for the low-voltage switchgear Industry from concept to production. The engineer ensures designs meet technical standards, customer requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Sheet Metal Enclosures, PSS Housings, Relay & Control Panels and other related products using CAD software.
  • Produce detailed enclosure layouts and fabrication drawings.
  • Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for all designed products, covering components, hardware, and raw materials.
  • Coordinate with production to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
  • Review client specifications, project requirements, and compliance standards before starting designs.
  • Update and improve existing designs based on feedback, performance, or production issues.
  • Work closely with the estimation and sales team for technical support, clarifications, and costing inputs.
  • Ensure all designs follow relevant electrical and safety standards.
  • Support R&D or new product development when needed.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in designing Sheet metal Enclosures and other related products.
  • Strong understanding of LV electrical systems, panel components, and enclosure construction.
  • Ability to create complete BOMs for all designs.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software (3D design knowledge is a plus).
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially sheet-metal fabrication.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
