Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

A reputable Marine Organization in Dubai, specializing in delivering reliable and integrated marine services to the Oil and Gas industry, is currently seeking to recruit a qualified Mechanical Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of offshore vessels.

  • Plan and execute ship repair activities, including dry docking and routine maintenance.

  • Diagnose mechanical faults and ensure timely resolution to minimize downtime.

  • Coordinate with technical teams, ship crew, and external vendors.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and marine regulations.

  • Prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules, and documentation.

  • Participating and Investigating machinery casualties to determine the cause and report to the technical director with learned lessons and recommendations to prevent recurrence of casualty or in proper operation.

  • Lailise and cooperates with regulatory bodies to ensure that requirements for alterations, repair, or modifications are as per company standard and consistent with safety.

  • Guiding in the sourcing of vessel spare parts ensuring the availability of the minimum critical vessel spare parts, and maintain records for inventory in addition to preparing newly submitted quotations regarding repairs.


Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  2. Proven experience in ship repairs and maintenance, preferably on offshore vessels.

  3. Strong knowledge of marine mechanical systems and equipment.

  4. Familiarity with offshore operations and safety standards.

  5. Good problem-solving and communication skills.

  6. Previous experience in the UAE or GCC marine industry.

  7. Experience working with Oil & Gas support vessels.
