Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet precise specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct simulations and modeling using CAD software to predict system performance and optimize designs effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and product managers, to integrate mechanical designs into holistic systems.
  • Oversee the prototyping and testing of mechanical components, iterating designs based on empirical data and user feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards through rigorous testing and quality assurance procedures.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, coordinating resources and deliverables to achieve project goals efficiently.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot mechanical failures, employing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions swiftly.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to innovate and improve existing mechanical systems.
  • Document design processes, test results, and project status, providing clear communication to stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a strong foundation in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-disciplinary teams, showcasing strong interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages like Spanish or Mandarin are a plus for global projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail in design and testing phases.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, with a proactive approach to mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Physical ability to perform hands-on tasks, including lifting and moving equipment or prototypes when necessary.
