Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate mechanical components, equipment, and services, focusing on cost-effectiveness and quality to ensure project success.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers, leveraging strong negotiation skills to achieve favorable terms and conditions and maximize cost savings.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials and services to meet project schedules.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations, monitoring key metrics such as on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaborative partnerships to ensure long-term supply chain stability and reliability.
  • Analyze market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities within the mechanical components market to inform sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand technical specifications and requirements, ensuring alignment between procurement and project needs.
  • Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposals (RFPs), ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation for suppliers.
  • Manage and resolve supplier-related issues, including quality defects, delivery delays, and invoice discrepancies, to maintain smooth operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulations throughout the procurement process, mitigating risks and promoting integrity.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Whoever is the immediate joiner will be prepared.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical procurement, demonstrating a proven track record of successful sourcing and negotiation.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical components and equipment is essential, enabling effective technical evaluation and selection.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills are crucial, facilitating effective interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in using procurement software and ERP systems is required, allowing for efficient management of procurement processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful completion of procurement tasks.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed, enabling effective analysis of data and resolution of complex issues.
