General Summary The job holder is accountable for timely and accurately testing and reporting of physical, mechanical and metallurgical test results on steel samples following standard procedures and work instructions to confirm the product meet the required standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities) Collection of Samples To cut and deliver to mechanical testing lab samples cast wise with proper ID as per quality plan. Collect Samples for Retest To collect and deliver retest samples from yard to mechanical testing lab with proper ID to enable decision making on held bundles/coils. Assist in Maintenance of Lab Equipment Assist in carrying out weekly maintenance of mechanical testing lab equipment System Adequacy Adherence of Quality Systems such as IMS, ISO17025 as per company’s testing standard requirements, procedures and work instructions. Problem Reporting Report problems faced to his superior to ensure smooth collection of samples from mills Safety, Health & Environment To maintain and comply with the company safety, health & environmental aspects at the work places to avoid injuries, damage to equipment/environment Additional Duties and Responsibilities (Additional Job Context) Macro etching of purchased and produced billets Other jobs as per requirement Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities (attributes) required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
