Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe dictated recordings from healthcare professionals into written reports, documents, and records
  • Edit and proofread transcriptions for accuracy and completeness
  • Verify and correct medical terminology, diagnoses, and procedures
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
  • Utilize transcription software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Meet productivity and quality standards for transcription services

Requirements and Skills

  • Education: Post-secondary education in medical transcription or a related field
  • Certifications: Certification in medical transcription (RMT, CMT, or RHDS) preferred
  • Experience: Previous experience in medical transcription or a related field
  • Skills:
  • Strong command of medical terminology
  • Excellent listening and typing skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and meet productivity standards
  • Familiarity with transcription software and EHR systems
