Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Draftsman with strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drafting and coordination within the UAE construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and revising technical drawings, coordinating layouts, and ensuring compliance with project and authority standards, including Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and Civil Defense regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop detailed MEP drawings, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting layouts.
  • Convert design concepts and engineer sketches into accurate and approved shop drawings.
  • Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural and structural layouts to prevent clashes and ensure smooth site execution.
  • Prepare as-built drawings after project completion as per site conditions.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and Civil Defense regulations.
  • Update and maintain drawing logs, version control, and documentation records.
  • Assist the MEP team and engineers in design modifications, quantity take-offs, and technical detailing.
  • Attend coordination meetings with engineers and contractors to resolve technical drawing discrepancies.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Support the project team in preparing material submittals and MEP layouts for client/consultant approval.

Desired Candidate Profile


Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience in MEP drafting for construction projects (buildings/villas/).
  • Strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), Revit MEP, and MS Office.
  • Familiarity with DEWA, DM, and Civil Defense standards and submission processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawings simultaneously.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
