Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create detailed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings using CAD software to support project requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and architects to ensure design feasibility and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Prepare shop drawings and as-built drawings, ensuring accuracy and completeness for construction teams.
  • Conduct site visits for field measurements and inspections to verify that the installation aligns with the design intent.
  • Review and incorporate modifications based on feedback from project stakeholders, ensuring timely updates to all documentation.
  • Assist in the coordination of MEP systems with other disciplines to prevent clashes and ensure seamless integration.
  • Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and related documents to ensure traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams, addressing any issues that may arise during installation.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in MEP technologies to continuously improve design practices.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing insights on design progress and potential challenges to keep timelines on track.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering is preferred for a comprehensive understanding of MEP systems.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in MEP drafting within the construction or engineering sector is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant drafting software is essential to produce high-quality designs.
  • Certification in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or equivalent is highly regarded to enhance collaborative project efforts.
  • Experience with codes and standards applicable to MEP systems, such as ASHRAE, NEC, or local regulations, is crucial.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of additional languages is beneficial for international projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines are vital for success in this role.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
