Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and design electrical systems, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards while optimizing performance and efficiency.
- Conduct detailed design calculations for MEP systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into building designs.
- Prepare and review technical drawings and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure accuracy and adherence to codes.
- Perform site surveys and inspections to assess existing conditions and provide insights for system upgrades or installations.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors during construction to resolve technical issues and ensure timely project delivery.
- Develop and manage project schedules and budgets for MEP components, ensuring resource allocation aligns with project milestones.
- Utilize advanced software tools for 3D modeling and simulation of MEP systems, enhancing efficiency and reducing design conflicts.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards throughout all project phases.
- Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Prepare and present project documentation and reports to stakeholders, clearly communicating technical information and project progress.
- Create detailed electrical schematics and layouts using advanced CAD software, translating complex technical requirements into clear visual representations.
- Conduct simulations and testing of electrical components to identify potential issues and validate design choices before implementation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to integrate electrical systems into larger projects.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing process, addressing any design-related challenges that arise and ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, including design reports and user manuals, to support the implementation and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, continually seeking opportunities to innovate and improve existing designs.
- Perform site inspections and field tests to ensure that electrical installations comply with design specifications and quality standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a master's degree is preferred for advanced roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering, ensuring a strong foundational knowledge of MEP systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP engineering, with a proven track record in commercial or industrial projects.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or similar certification, demonstrating recognized expertise in the field.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, such as Revit, to facilitate advanced design processes.
- Strong knowledge of energy efficiency standards and sustainable design practices, reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, including AutoCAD and load calculation programs, to enhance design accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, allowing for innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality control, ensuring all designs meet rigorous standards and specifications.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar tools is essential for effective design visualization.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable, demonstrating commitment to industry standards and ethics.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and regulations, ensuring compliance in all design and implementation phases.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate design concepts and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on quality assurance and the ability to identify potential design flaws early in the process.
- Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus, especially for international projects.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in electrical design, preferably within the automotive, aerospace, or renewable energy sectors.
