Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed analysis of project drawings and specifications to ensure accurate estimation of MEP systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather and assess project requirements and constraints.
  • Prepare and maintain a comprehensive database of unit costs for all MEP materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Participate in value engineering processes to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities within project estimates to support informed decision-making.
  • Utilize advanced estimating software to create precise cost estimates and reports for MEP systems.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure compliance with project specifications and budget constraints.
  • Develop and present detailed cost breakdowns and estimates to stakeholders for review and approval.
  • Monitor project costs and schedules throughout the lifecycle to ensure alignment with initial estimates.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance and competitiveness in estimates.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in MEP estimating within the construction industry.
  • Certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) are preferred.
  • Proven experience with MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations, particularly in the region of employment.
  • Proficient in using estimating software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or specific MEP estimating tools.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documents and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in another language is a plus.
  • Must possess strong organizational abilities and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates.
