Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
StrategicDevelop and implement the MEP interface strategy in alignment with the project s operational and maintenance objectives.Ensure integration of MEP systems activities with organizational goals, focusing on system reliability, sustainability, and lifecycle asset management.Contribute to strategic decision-making by providing expert insights on MEP coordination, maintenance planning, and performance improvement.FinancialSupport cost optimization through effective MEP interface planning and coordination to minimize downtime, rework, and energy inefficiencies.Ensure adherence to maintenance budgets and efficient resource utilization in alignment with approved financial plans.Identify efficiency improvements that contribute to long-term operational cost savings.Stakeholder / Customer Serve as the primary liaison between Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality & Assurance, and external stakeholders for all MEP interface matters.Represent the department in technical and interface-related meetings with regulatory authorities, contractors, and client representatives to ensure compliance and collaboration.OperationalCoordinate MEP system interface activities between Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure compliance with contractual and operational requirements.Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), configuration control plans, and MEP interface work instructions.Oversee MEP system inspections, testing, and performance monitoring in collaboration with relevant departments.Ensure timely resolution of interface issues affecting MEP system performance, reliability, or safety.Support integration between MEP systems and other disciplines (civil, architectural, and systems engineering) to maintain operational readiness. Capability/PeopleEnsure engineering and maintenance personnel are trained, certified, and competent in MEP interface and maintenance management processes.Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and foster continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team. DimensionsDirect management of MEP interface coordination processes and system integration activities.Oversight of performance KPIs related to system reliability, maintenance response, and issue resolution.Collaboration with multiple departments including Operations Control Centre, Maintenance Planning, Technical Support, and Facilities Management.Office environment. Occasional travel may be required.MINIMUM QUAIFICATIONSMin.RequiredDesirableEducationDegree holder or higher diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline and/or relevant professional qualification.Professionally qualified with membership of a recognized engineering institution;ExperienceMinimum 4 years relevant working experience as Engineer in the design, testing and commissioning, maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & LTE Services facilities covering Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS), Platform Screen Door Systems (PSD), FireProtection System (FPS) fire suppression and fire alarm, Environmental Control Systems(ECS) ,Heat, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Systems (HVAC),Dewatering and PlumbingSystems (DPS),Building Low Voltage System, Lifts, Escalators ,Travellators, Motorized SlidingDoors (MSD), Generators, Parking Guidance System (PGS), Smoke Curtains and RollerShutter Doors, hoist, barrierAt least 3 years of supervisory and management experience with the ability to manage multiplesub-contractors, technical support team with an aim to minimize the system unavailability andasset life cycle costs of the Mechanical, electrical, Plumbing & LTEExperience in metro or tram interface management roles. Background in MEP maintenance planning, configuration control, or reliability engineering. Hands-on experience in incident management and service recovery within a regulated railway environment. Exposure to performance regime management and KPI-driven operational improvement. Prior experience liaising with regulatory authorities, contractors, and clients in the rail industry.Skills / TrainingStrong technical understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, lighting, and plumbing systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and IT proficiency. Effective communication and coordination skills in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and planning skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
