Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
An MEP Project Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, and management of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in various construction projects. They play a pivotal role in ensuring the integration of these systems into the overall project design, thereby ensuring operational excellence and compliance with engineering standards and codes. This role demands expertise in engineering principles, project management, and communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders. The MEP Project Engineer must effectively oversee the alignment, installation, and testing of the systems to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all quality and safety standards. This position is vital in large-scale construction industries where complex systems integration is crucial.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects and construction teams to integrate MEP designs effectively.
- Develop and review mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering drawings and plans.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure efficient installation of MEP systems.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor installation works, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and resource allocation for MEP components.
- Evaluate system functionalities and troubleshoot issues in project implementations.
- Ensure all designs and installations meet governmental safety regulations and codes.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and subcontractors.
- Maintain documentation of all processes, inspections, and operational procedures.
- Attend project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and plan adjustments.
- Facilitate final inspections and oversee the commissioning of MEP systems.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and methodologies in MEP engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP project management or engineering.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to work with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and timelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
