Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conducting metallurgical testing and analysis of metals and alloys
- Preparing samples for microscopic examination and mechanical testing
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment such as spectrometers, hardness testers etc
- Recording and interpreting test data, preparing detailed reports, and presenting findings to engineering teams
- Performing failure analysis on metal components to determine causes of defects
- Ensuring all laboratory procedures comply with industry standards and safety regulations
- Participating in the development and improvement of testing methods and protocols
- Collaborating with metallurgists and engineers to resolve technical issues
- Maintaining accurate records of test results and laboratory activities
- Assisting in research and development projects related to new materials and processes
Desired Candidate Profile
- Basic understanding of metallurgical principles and testing techniques
- Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean laboratory environment
