Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the British Columbia (BC) curriculum.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters students' academic, social, and emotional development.

  • Assess and evaluate students' progress through a variety of assessment methods.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' academic performance and behaviour.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and any concerns.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and curriculum plans.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.

  • Organize and participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and field trips.

  • Support students' individual learning needs and provide additional assistance as required.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Education, PGCE or a related field.

  • Valid teaching certification recognized by the British Columbia Ministry of Education or willingness / international qualifications suitable to obtain certification.

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or BC curriculum school.

  • Strong understanding of the BC curriculum and educational standards.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.

  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of a diverse student population.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.

  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
