Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Trade Execution & Operations Management: Oversee the full life cycle of refined products trading deals (e.g., gasoline, diesel, jet, fuel oil, naphtha). Manage all operational aspects from deal confirmation to delivery and discharge. Coordinate with traders, clients, suppliers, and terminals to ensure efficient cargo scheduling and execution.
Shipping & Logistics: Liaise with shipping departments, brokers, vessel owners, and agents to ensure timely vessel nomination, clearance, berthing, and loading/discharge operations. Monitor vessel movements and anticipate potential delays or issues. Coordinate issuance of shipping documents (BLs, NOR, SOF, etc.).
Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and review operational documentation (including cargo documentation, invoices, PDAs, LOIs, etc.). Ensure compliance with contractual terms, industry regulations, and internal procedures. Handle letters of credit and bank documentation in coordination with the finance team.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary operational contact between counterparties, suppliers, terminals, and inspection companies. Maintain clear and timely communication with trading, finance, and risk teams on deal status, cost implications, and operational exposures.
Port & PDA Management: Coordinate Proforma Disbursement Accounts (PDA) and Final DA with agents and finance. Review and validate port charges, demurrage exposure, and other operational costs.
Post-Fixture & Claim Management: Track and manage demurrage/despatch, product losses, and other post-delivery claims. Support settlement and claim resolution in collaboration with legal and trading teams.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, Engineering, Business, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in oil & gas operations, preferably in refined products trading.
Solid understanding of incoterms, shipping logistics, port operations, and contract execution.
Strong grasp of trading documentation and operational compliance.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to manage multiple stakeholders.
Able to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with trading/ERP systems (e.g. SAP, ETRM platforms) is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive and hands-on approach.
