Oncology Business Unit Lead
Key responsibilities:
• Act as a leader of Company strategy
• Contributes to the strategic management of the country operation through effective participation with peers and close working relationship with General Manager
• Active member of the Saudi Operating Committee
• Leads cross functional/cross Business Unit initiatives at the local level
• Builds personal credibility & strong working relationships, breaks barriers and influences across organizational and geographical boundaries driving efficiency, effectiveness, and agility for optimized organizational performance within the Oncology business unit
• Makes decisions with appropriate balance of alignment, risk, speed and rigor
• Able to represent the company internally and externally
• Oversees and supervises Sales and Marketing team
• Act as leader of brand strategy locally
• Develops and communicates a compelling vision for the sales and marketing team that is aligned with the overall business strategy and driven by a strong personal teachable point of view (ideas, values and energy) to motivate the team
• Develops and implements oncology business strategy and translates strategy into actions that will create competitive advantage in the marketplace
• Analyzes and translates trends, threats and opportunities in the market place in terms of long-term business implications
• Contributes to strategies and mechanisms that obtain/maintain optimal pricing reimbursement/access, in compliance with all legal, ethical and regulatory standards
• Prepares forecast and P&L analysis of assigned products in order to support the development of the local strategy
• Develops strong relationships and possible synergies between various departments and integrates those diverse resources to enhance business performance of his/her full product range
• Displays openness to change and a willingness to focus on the opportunities presented by change and drives change by challenging the status quo. Identifies gaps and thinks strategically to bridge the gaps
• Works closely with medical team to develop depth understanding of Life Cycle Plan and delivers specific actions/programs to support prioritized business opportunities within area of responsibility
• Creates enthusiasm and commitment. Has the confidence of team members and provides "take-charge" leadership during tough times
• Profit and losses responsibility for more than one brand
• Delivers the implementation of local customer marketing plan
• Effectively leads the commercialization of assigned product portfolio, sets priorities and allocates resources optimally to maximize sales, market share and business objectives
• Optimizes the business unit performance through superior implementation and execution of company Marketing and Sales Force Effectiveness programs
• Flexible mindset and willingness to accept stretch targets. Takes personal accountability for achieving success of the business objectives including areas of decision making which involves significant risk
• Develops a systematic approach to monitor, measure and track the sales and marketing projects and business performance
• Initiates, builds and maintains strong relationships with key external medical KOL s, HCPs, organizations, patients advocacy groups and distributors in order to create positive impact and change to attainment of business objectives goals
• Actively contributes to making the local Business Unit - Medical - Access triangle work smoothly and efficiently in order to produce and execute plans that are aligned with the worldwide strategy
• Provides inputs into Regulatory and market access strategies to ensures consistent and innovative approach
• Manage and develop team members
• Builds & develops a diverse, high performing team by attracting & retaining the best talent, establishing and communicating high standards, establishing and implementing development plans
• Serves as role model in providing regular feedback and coaching to improve performance and delivery skills. Creates opportunities for individuals to develop
• Keeps the sales and marketing team focused on customer needs and uses situational leadership in dealing with team, engages team and partners at strategic points of decision-making and implementation to get buy-in and mobilize resources towards desired results
• Establishes an efficient and effective Business Unit structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities
• Champions innovation within Business Unit and ensures experience sharing across the organization
• Plans and implements active resource utilization in areas of highest need
• Establishes appropriate budget goals aligned with external marketplace and internal strategy
• Champions annual brand planning to optimize sales, market shares and profit margin
• Knows the local economic, market and industry trends and uses appropriate information to maximize opportunities and minimize risk exposure
• Ensures a balance between the needs of the marketing mix, internal business functions, and external systems to bring optimum business results
• Appropriately allocates resources to align with brand strategies in line with brand plan and budget
• Ensures agreed brand/ disease areas strategies are implemented flawlessly
• Ensures full compliance in implementation and enhances BMS image
• Relentlessly maintains and develops a compelling culture of compliance
• Demonstrates the business ethics and judgment to enforce internal controls to comply with the laws, regulations and BMS standards of business conduct and ethics
• Takes the broader business perspective into account when making decisions. Works within a multi-disciplinary team of people to ensure decisions made are correct

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Key Requirements:
• Bachelor s Degree or equivalent in a Pharmaceutical / Medical field
• Business School degree or MBA is desirable
• 7+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience within competitive therapeutic field (oncology/ hematology experience is preferred)
• Experience in effectively direct management and development of a specialized team of professionals and ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Mastery of core marketing principles and experience of developing and implementing innovative strategic and tactical marketing plans that led to breakthrough business results
• Demonstrated track record of success in launching and commercializing highly visible strategic product(s) with high integrity while focusing on execution
• Mastery of products, diseases and competitors across the full range of the therapeutic areas
• Broad and in-depth understanding of local issues relative to the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare environment and competitive forces
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results that meet high quality requirements with tight deadlines
• Exceptional candor in communicating and presenting to senior management with the ability to influence decisions
• Effective strong presentation skills with the ability to create energy and excitement
• Demonstrated strong ability to act as change catalyst, adjusts and effectively responds to changing environments
• Demonstrated ability and desire to continuously drive process improvements and streamline activities and use of change management strategies/tactics to influence new ways of thinking and working
• Proven history of seeking out new information and learning quickly ability to absorb new concepts, analyze data and ask insightful questions to make effective decisions-experiments
• Ability to flex across different types of cultures, complexities, business situations and matrix partners and demonstrated ability to successfully and effectively build and maintain strong relationships and networks with key internal and external stakeholders
• Knowledge and deep understanding of pricing & reimbursement, outcomes research, regulatory affairs, payor management
• Strong project management, analytical and forecasting skills
• Broad understanding of the components of Business (P&L, Supply Chain, etc.)
• Mastery of financial principles and how to manage budgets, control expenses and manage product performance
• Excellent command of oral and written English and Arabic
