Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Al Mezoon Marbles & Granite Ind LLC is a UAE-based company, located in Sajja Industrial Area, Sharjah, specialising in natural stones, marble, and granite—including importation, supply, fabrication and installation.
We expertise in kitchen worktops, vanity tops, reception counters, and broader large-project work for residential and commercial sectors.
The Head of Operations role would oversee the end-to-end operations: procurement/import, fabrication/manufacturing, installation logistics, quality control, workforce management, and process improvement.
Operations Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute operational strategy aligned with the company’s business goals (growth in supply/fabrication/installation of marble & granite products).
- Set operational KPIs (e.g., fabrication throughput, installation efficiency, on-time delivery, cost per square metre, waste reduction) and monitor performance.
- Forecast operational capacity needs (machines, manpower, flooring / cutting, finishing, logistics) to meet project demands.
Production & Fabrication Management
- Oversee the fabrication/manufacturing process of marble/granite (cutting, polishing, finishing, quality check) ensuring efficient workflow, minimal waste, high quality.
- Ensure maintenance of machinery equipment, safe operations, and compliance with standards.
- Implement lean or continuous improvement methodologies to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Procurement, Import & Supply Chain
- Manage procurement of raw stone blocks/slabs, importing if required, maintaining relationships with suppliers. The company’s business includes imports of marble and also supply/installation.
- Ensure materials are ordered, received, stored, and dispatched efficiently with minimal delays and damage.
- Coordinate with warehousing/stock control for optimal inventory levels, careful handling of premium material, and cost control.
Installation & Project Execution
- Oversee installation teams and logistics across residential and commercial projects: scheduling, staffing, site coordination, subcontractors if any, installation quality and client satisfaction.
- Interface with project management, sales / business development, and site teams to ensure operations support project execution.
- Ensure safe working practices at site, compliance with UAE regulations and client requirements.
Quality Assurance & Customer Service
- Define and enforce quality control processes for products (marble/granite worktops, vanities, counters) and installations.
- Address and resolve operational issues, defects, client complaints, and ensure lessons learned feed back into process improvement.
- Monitor customer satisfaction insofar as operations affect delivery, installation, and after-care support.
Cost Management & Financial Oversight
- Prepare and manage operational budgets, control costs of fabrication, installation, transportation, workforce, wastage, etc.
- Analyse cost drivers and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Work with finance/management to approve capital expenditure (machinery, upgrades) and justify ROI.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all operations adhere to health & safety standards (workshop, factory, site installations) as per UAE regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance with environmental regulations as relevant for stone processing, waste disposal, etc.
- Implement and monitor safe working protocols, training, equipment safety checks.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Build, lead and mentor a high-performing operations team including supervisors, managers, supervisors, technicians, installers.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide coaching, training and development.
- Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, safety and quality.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide regular operational reports to senior management: performance metrics, bottlenecks, budget variances, upcoming capacity requirements.
- Liaise with other departments (sales, business development, finance, HR, procurement) to ensure integrated operations.
- Engage with clients or major project stakeholders when necessary to support operational delivery and respond to escalations.
