Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform complex surgical procedures on the head, neck, and face, including reconstructive surgery and trauma repair.
  • Diagnose and treat oral diseases and conditions, utilizing advanced imaging techniques for accurate assessment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including dentists and oncologists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care, ensuring optimal recovery and addressing any complications.
  • Conduct surgeries in various settings, from outpatient clinics to hospitals, adapting to the specific needs of each environment.
  • Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, recovery processes, and potential risks involved.
  • Oversee and mentor surgical residents and junior staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Participate in research initiatives aimed at improving surgical techniques and patient outcomes within the field.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery, typically lasting 4-6 years.
  • Board certification in oral and maxillofacial surgery, demonstrating a high standard of clinical expertise.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field, with a focus on surgical interventions and patient care.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in trauma surgery or oncologic surgery.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus to enhance patient communication.
  • Strong technical skills in surgical procedures, including familiarity with advanced imaging and diagnostic tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-stress situations and make quick decisions during surgeries.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform intricate surgical procedures with precision and care.
