Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the packhouse maintenance team, ensuring all machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition to meet production targets.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all critical packhouse equipment, minimizing downtime and costly emergency repairs.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues, providing expert guidance to technicians.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels of essential components to facilitate timely repairs and reduce operational disruptions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the maintenance department, fostering a safe working environment.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Vocational qualification or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Certification in relevant fields such as PLC programming, electrical safety, or specific machinery operation.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC) and their implications for maintenance practices.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of industrial machinery, including conveyors, sorters, and packaging equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of motivating and developing technical staff.
