Job Requirements:
Input, calculate, verify and process payroll transactions
Communicate and share payroll related information with all stakeholders.
Calculate and balance all transactions related to third party payments
Ensure remittance to governments and vendors are accurate and on-time.
Produce reports to verify and reconcile payments
Maintain records of employee attendance, leave and overtime
Maintain and safeguard all payroll records, including attendance, leave, overtime, duty and charge hand rotations, etc.
Calculate and process retroactive, termination/severance payments and long service awards.
Able to prioritize work to be sure that all employees are paid correctly and within deadlines
Ability to interpret Housing Authority policy and procedure pertaining to compensation and benefits.
Job Responsibilities:
Strong knowledge of federal and provincial regulations.
Knowledge of accounting principles is essential.
Solid PC skills including proficiency in Excel
Demonstrated knowledge of payroll practice
Excellent knowledge of office procedures and practices
Client service oriented.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Ability to exercise tact, discretion, sound judgment and initiative
Must be detail oriented and able to meet tight deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skill
