Job Description

  1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Dispense medications to  inpatient as per prescription.

 

  1. Reviews and interprets each prescription/ medication order before dispensing to ascertain correctness of strength, dose instructions and dosage form.

 

  1. Patient counseling- Provides appropriate patient information concerning the dispensed medications.

 

  1. Clarify any prescription abnormality with the prescribing physician. Any unresolved problems are referred to chief pharmacist.

 

 

  1. Supervise the repackaging, labeling and documentation of medications issued to other departments.

 

  1. Answers drug related inquiries received from doctors, nurses and customers. Those inquiries which cannot be answered with certainty are to be referred to the chief pharmacist.

 

  1. Requests received transfers and adjust medication stock and maintain computerized records per established guidelines to ensure drug availability and correct computer inventory accurately reflecting physical inventory.

 

  1. Supervise the repacking, labeling and documentation of medications for unit dose distribution.

 

  1. Assists in the training of new pharmacist and pharmacist staff as per the direction of the chief pharmacist.

 

  1. Performs specialty pharmacy activities, as delegated and trained.

 

  1. Responsible for medicine’s stock, near expiry medicines monitoring of rack number 2 & 3.

 

  1. Performs other miscellaneous duties, as directed by the chief pharmacist.

 

  1. To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  1. QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS

     

     

    1. Education and training. Pharmacists must possess a Master Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.

 

  1. At least two (2) years’ experience in a hospital as a pharmacist.

 

  1. Thorough knowledge of UAE Laws, company policies, regulations precedents applicable to the area of work.

 

  1. DHA license. 

 

  1. Good command of English. Arabic is desirable but not essential.
