Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging physical education curricula aligned with national standards, fostering a love for movement and activity.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students, regardless of skill level, feel comfortable participating and striving for personal bests.
  • Assess student performance through observation, skill demonstrations, and written assessments, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement.
  • Manage and maintain physical education equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe, organized, and conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and parents to support student development, addressing any physical or behavioral challenges.
  • Organize and supervise intramural sports and extracurricular activities, providing opportunities for students to develop teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Adapt lessons and activities to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with disabilities or special needs.
  • Stay current with best practices in physical education, attending professional development workshops and conferences to enhance teaching skills.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a positive and supportive school community.

  • Maintains current CPR/First Aid certifications, ensuring the ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies.
  • Demonstrates prior experience in teaching physical education, preferably in a school setting, indicating practical classroom experience.
  • Has a minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching physical education, highlighting a level of expertise and adaptability.
