MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
1. Knowledge in field of electro-mechanical, power plant, industrial or electrical preferred
2. Technical school training required, military experience preferred
3. Must possess a valid U.S. driver s license for the purpose of obtaining a Military and/or Kuwait driver s license
Experience:
1. Minimum of four (4) years experience in power plant operations, power generation, distribution, transmission and substation maintenance required
2. NICET III certification in electrical power testing or equivalent training preferred
Skills:
1. Comprehensive knowledge and skills inPOSITION SUMMARY:  


Performs high-voltage (415 volt to 11 kV) electrical work involving the installation, operation, maintenance, repair and testing of high voltage electrical power generation and distribution systems to include facilities and related systems, transformers, generators, switchgear, metering and control systems, equipment, machinery and power appliances to within acceptable national (NEC) and local (MEW) codes, safety rules and electrical standards. Exhibits superior workmanship and focus on a quality end product. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all tasks are accomplished safely and with a focus upon a quality. Verifies actual hours worked by personnel to reduce manpower expenditure. Completes tasks in accordance with the local Environmental, Safety and Health directives. Addresses customer concerns in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Correctly captures data on maintenance work order requests and preventative maintenance inspection forms for upload into the Computer Maintenance Management System (Maximo).

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: 
1. Accountable for, and ensures a safe and effective operation of the power plant facility
2. Uses a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database to track work orders, request material and update work order statuses as needed
3. Analyzes equipment data and trends; formulates changes to the maintenance program procedures as needed
4. Works to eliminate unscheduled outages
5. Performs installation, maintenance and repair  of  all  electrical,  generator,  transformer,  switchgear,  power  grid, substation and load center equipment
6. Tests circuits, power grids, transformers, switchgear and controls demonstrating the proper use of meters, high-voltage testers, meggers and similar testing equipment to measure the integrity of electrical components and detect faults, hazards and the need for adjustments, relocation and or replacement
7. Works on breakers, transformers, RTS or Protest relay testing, oil testing, infrared scanning, automatic transfer switching, performing start-up on switchgear up through 500kV class, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
8. Performs other duties as assigned


MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: 
1. A basic set of hand and power tools used on the job
2. Test sets and other generator/power plant maintenance related tools/equipment
3. Repair parts used on various types and sizes of generators and other power plant equipment

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 
Duties will involve the conduct of work in the outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms, and high temperatures – up to 130F degrees in the summer months. Potential exposure to chemical or biological agents could exist. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain areas is required. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Normal work week is 48 hours but must be able to work overtime or shift work as required.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: 
Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required. 2. Knowledge of electrical codes, utility standards and safety programs as governed by rules, regulations and guidelines of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI and the NEC
3. Skilled in power plant, substation, and utility voltages (480-volt, 2400 volt, 4160 volt through 13.8 kv)
4. Possess proficient English oral and written communications skills
5. Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork
6. Exercise discretion and good sound judgment
7. Basic computer skills
