This role ensures PCBA soldering and depanelling manufacturing process optimization for New Product Introduction, Transfered PCBA from other EATON plants or EMS, and ensure robust and stable production processes compliance with industry standards, supporting product quality, and operational excellence, in line with EATON Safety rules.
The Process Engineer Soldering will design Soldering and depanelling processes through each manufacturing steps, interacts with R&Ds during design phases (manufacturability of PCB & PCBA), by supporting Industrialization Program Manager, optimizes Soldering and depanelling processes and minimize defect and scrap rates, supports production in quality improvement, suggests CI and VAVE projects for productivity improvement and ensures soldering/Depanelling process benchmark to enhance EATON operational productivity.
What you ll do:
- Develop, deliver and maintain Operators and Maintenance work instruction and plan, for related Soldering, depaneling and XRay equipment processes, related to equipment operation, and PCBA specific instructions.
- Proactive in PCBA soldering and depanelling Prototypes manufacturing, for NPI and transfered PCBA projects.
- Support Industrialization program manager in ProLaunch Manufacturing delivrables release: Process flow Chart, PFMEA, PPAP, etc..
- Support Industrialization program manager to influence PCB/PCBA design through DFM reviews, with R&D
- Ensure PCBA Soldering and depanelling ECO/MCO effective implementation in due time.
- Track and improve Waves soldering, Manual and robot soldering, depaneling and XRay lines cycle times for each PCBA SKU, and Update related RCCP data with production manager
- Support customer audit and Plant quality certification programs at Soldering Level.
- Manage tool procurement for Soldering, Depaneling and XRay purposes: Wave soldering frames, manual soldering fixtures, Robot soldering fixtures, Depanelling tools, etc...
- Program and set-up Waves soldering, Selective wave soldering, Robot soldering, manual soldering, depanelling (Asys and Maestro) and XRay equipment for soldering production processes ourside of SMT.
- Manage consistency of equipment programing database and standards, across production lines and PCBA SKUs
- Secure side equipment process directly linked to Soldering processes: Soldering frames cleaning, Soldering tip management, etc...
- Act as technical interlocutor for other EATON plant and EMS, for soldering and XRay processes (Outside SMT)
- Define CAPEX needs for PP, to improve productivity in Soldering areas (Outside SMT) (ROI)
- Lead Soldering and XRay processes technical benchmark with equipment suppliers, and exhibition attendance, for Soldering technology roadmap definition.
- Validate New processes introduction in Soldering processes: new components, new PCB technologies, new equipment validation, new consumables,...
