Roles & Responsibilities
What we are looking for: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Engineer with expertise in materials specifications and management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring the acquisition of materials meets project requirements and specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of materials engineering principles, supply chain management, and vendor relations. Roles and Responsibilities ▪ Develop and maintain material specifications in collaboration with project teams and engineering departments. ▪ Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements. ▪ Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, including pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. ▪ Coordinate with internal stakeholders to determine material needs and forecast demand accurately. ▪ Conduct regular assessments of supplier performance and address any issues or concerns. ▪ Optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring timely availability of materials. ▪ Monitor market trends and technological advancements to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. ▪ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement procurement strategies that support business objectives. ▪ Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing materials procurement and management. ▪ Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams regarding material selection, usage, and specifications.
Desired Candidate Profile
▪ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, supply chain management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. ▪ Proven experience in procurement, preferably in the interior fitout industry. ▪ Strong understanding of materials specifications, properties, and applications. ▪ Familiarity with procurement software and tools for supplier management and procurement analytics. ▪ Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. ▪ Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to optimize procurement processes. ▪ Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality. ▪ Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. ▪ Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM) governing materials procurement and management. ▪ Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management are a plus.
